Occupied 720p
I am working on a feature where the user can start a video recording of a YouTube live-stream. The feature is per default disabled. A required input for the recording to work is to select which stream quality it should record from (e.g 480p, 720p, 1080p).
Considering that Conan and Leno "tape" their shows in the middle of the afternoon, their fully-digital 1080i and 720p content could be available as soon as the final produced cut is dumped to a Storage Area Network from the studio, encoded in a loss-less compressed HDTV video format, and replicated via high-speed optical carrier to a CDN like LimeLight Networks, Akamai, Netflix or UStream, who would then provide the feed directly to Comcast, DirecTV, Verizon, or whoever needs to populate their content on their set-top box for On-Demand Streaming.
The big debate over any new toy these days is convergence: do you want one device that does everything decently, or a bunch of devices that do one thing and do them well? Case in point is a gadget like the Flip Mino HD, a pocket-sized camcorder that shoots in sharp 720p video, has 2 hours of onboard recording time, a simple interface, flip-out USB connector, and unabashedly slick looks (hey, metal instead of plastic!).
You can share and consume HD (720p) live video feed. Hosts can set the video quality to HD in the Meeting Preferences. The broadcasted HD feed is available in both, the Filmstrip mode and the Grid mode. Adobe recommends using the Filmstrip mode for better performance.
HD feed is published only if the available display area in the Video Pod is at least 720 pixels in height. If the Video Pod is smaller in size, then making it Full Screen does not start HD. Change the Video Pod's actual size to more than 720p to start publishing HD feeds. 2ff7e9595c
